Saab Survey Systems AB becomes TopEye ABOn April 30 1999, Osterman Helicopter AB purchased all shares in Saab Survey Systems AB from Saab. At the same time it was decided to change the name of the company to TopEye AB. TopEye AB has also changed its headquarters from Jönköping to Gothenburg. The idea behind Saab TopEye came originally from Lennart Pihl of Osterman Helicopter in Sweden. The development of the Saab TopEye instrument was done by a consortium of companies of which Osterman Helicopter was one of the leading partners. Saab Survey Systems was established as a division of Saab Combitech to handle the development and marketing of the Saab TopEye system, with the founding shareholders being Saab AB and Osterman Helicopter AB. Hence it was a logical step for Osterman to acquire full ownership of TopEye when Saab AB, in the process of restructuring Saab Combitech, announced it was seeking for a new environment for Saab Survey System. At TopEye AB business will continue much as it was under Saab Survey Services, but with a shift in focus from marketing stand-alone survey systems to becoming a more complete solution-oriented company. in the coming year we will focus on three areas:
TopEye AB will continue to have on-going technical co-operation with Saab AB. The core technical expertise that has been involved in the development of the TopEye instrument is intact and TopEye AB's capabilities have not been adversely affected by the change in ownership. It is our fundamental belief, that as part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial business group with an increased operational focus, we are in a position to offer you our services in a more flexible and responsive fashion but still supported by the extensive technical skills available at Saab AB. Please do not hesitate to contact us with in questions. We look forward to continuing to offer our instruments and services to solve your airborne laser scanning needs. Sincerely yours, TopEye AB |
