About This Site
- This site is intended to act as a reference site covering all aspects
of the emerging technology of airborne laser mapping. Our Industry
Directory contains profiles and links to service providers and system
manufacturers. If you are interested in finding a service provider or
a system manufacturer, browse the listings in the directory. Each company
has a summary sheet of pertinent information where available and links
to that particular company's web site if one exists.
- Since various government agencies and similar research institutes are also operating airborne laser systems for mapping purposes, links
are included for these groups in our Research Directory. If you are interested
in the research end of the subject check out the links to groups such as the USGS, NASA or HARC.
- Links will be added later in the Technology and Applications sections for those people interested in more in-depth information on these
subjects.
Design Philosophy
This site is designed using the common sense guidelines proposed by Dr. Jakob Nielson for useable web site design. Basically we try to stress CONTENT over FORM and INFORMATION over STYLE. Why? Because you've taken time out of your day to visit our site and we feel we should value that time as much as you do. There are plenty of sites available if you want to view bleeding-edge graphics, animated GIFs, cascading interlinked frames and other bandwidth-intensive tools.
